Trang Islands Adventure:
Pak Meng Pier
On Saturday, Tinu and I set off to see some of the magnificent Trang Islands. The Andaman Sea is about an hour’s drive from Trang Town. More than 40 islands dot the coastline of Trang Province. Towering limestone cliffs of fantastic shape and size float in a dreamy blue sea.
As yet, tourism is modest—but all of that will change eventually as more people discover the quiet beauty of the area and tire of Phuket, which we hear is overrun by tourists. (Will find out when I go there in February!)
We departed at about 8:30 in the morning from Pak Meng Pier—the gateway to the Trang Islands. Had a marvelous day, as the following posts will show!
Pak Meng street scenes. A couple of resorts and shops can be found near the pier.
Island views from land typify the islands we will see today from the deck of a ferry boat.
