Long-gong:

My spelling of this exotic tropical fruit is not guaranteed accurate. This is just what the name sounds like to me. One of the teachers plucked a bunch from a tree in her yard and brought it into school today. I loved the fruit! It has a succulent sweet-tart taste and a bitter seed that afficionados eat anyway--and I did eat a few before deciding that the seeds really ruin the lovely flavor of the fruit itself.

Doesn't look like much but what it lacks in looks, it makes up for in taste. I asked if I could take home one small fruit to show the other volunteers--and with typical Thai generosity, I was given the whole bunch. (Never hurts to ask!)
